The extension
Sensitivity presets: Strict, Balanced and Lenient
The preset sets how confident a check must be before the circle appears. Balanced (90%) is the default.
Updated
Open the popup and pick a preset under Sensitivity.
| Preset | Circle appears at | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Strict | 95% confidence | You want to see only the strongest evidence, mostly verified signatures and watermarks. |
| Balanced (default) | 90% confidence | Everyday use. Provenance hits and confident classifier results show; weak writing-pattern guesses do not. |
| Lenient | 70% confidence | You want more flags and accept more false positives, for example when reviewing a feed you already suspect. |
The setting is global, applies immediately to the current page, and is stored with your extension settings.
What the number means
Every detector that ran contributes to one combined score between 0 and 1. A trusted provenance signal pushes it to at least 0.9. Otherwise the classifier, the recheck, and the writing pattern blended with community reports decide it. The preset only controls which scores get a circle; the card always shows the full score and the evidence. Details in How verdicts are scored.
Uncertain content
A score between 40% and 70% is called uncertain. Only Lenient shows circles in that range, and even then the card headline says Uncertain rather than AI-generated. See What uncertain means.
