Creator program
Code deactivation and reactivation
Switch your code off and on yourself at any time. A code with no purchases for 30 days is switched off automatically and needs $5 of link commission to come back.
Updated
Switching it off yourself
In the portal's code card choose to switch the code off. Stripe stops accepting it at checkout immediately. Sales made while it is off are not attributed to you unless the customer came through your link. Switch it back on whenever you like; a code you switched off yourself has no waiting condition.
Automatic inactivity switch-off
If no purchase is made with your code for 30 consecutive days, a daily job switches it off and emails the address on your account. The portal shows the code as deactivated with the reason.
Reactivating an inactive code
An inactive code can be switched on again only once you have earned at least $5.00 in commission through your referral link on qualifying sales that occur after the switch-off date. The portal shows your progress toward that amount and offers the switch once you reach it. Reactivation sets the code active again with Stripe and clears the deactivation.
Why it works this way
Stripe promotion codes have a cost to keep live, and a code that nobody uses signals that the audience it was issued for has moved on. Link commission since the switch-off shows the audience is still there.
Changes
We may adjust the inactivity period and the reactivation amount with at least 30 days' notice, as the creator program terms describe.
